an exploration of decay and aging

Station

A second show in Portland OR saw me continuing work on found glass with old, decayed paper in-between. I collaged simple sketches between these glass “sandwiches”. Influenced by the crumbling paper- I connected the decay of objects with the temporary nature of life. Themed “an endless disastrous youthful explanation”. I was also responding at the time to an important person in my young life being diagnosed with cancer. How someone young and beautiful can have a disease is a cruel and a sobering joke life plays.
