MC Commission

This commission piece for a NYC client who had previously purchased drawings of their dog years ago was just so much fun to make. Mostly because the client had some really fun prompts, he wanted “extremely colorful” art that had “structured, organic energy” or “crackling energy” that was “organized chaos” and represented the “deep vitality of nature”. How could that not be amazingly fun to make??

Occasionally I’m lucky enough to find clients that have a similar vision or way of looking at life and making art for them not only is a good fit but also pushes my practice forward. I felt this way making this commission, not only was it fun to make but it gave me the opportunity to push my practice in a newer direction that’s true to my process. Very grateful for clients that push me to grow as well! Maybe I should be paying them?
