Timelapse and process of Boston Mural

Creation of Boston Mural

This commission is installed in the entrance of a climbing gym in Boston, MA. To keep hyper local, most all of the drawings are from Cambridge and Somerville (a few from greater Boston). The drawings are silkscreened on birch plywood, and the edge computer aided cut into 3 layers. The design is a patten, mirrored and reflected giving some interesting overlap abstract qualities and line density.

Behind the art is a custom led light that will change to any color in the rainbow by mobile phone. I think my favorite last minute decision was to paint the wall a bold teal color, which complements the warm toned wood well and with the right light color makes it look all tropical… which is exactly what Boston is not, oh well.
